1. How long do I have to take care of my citation?

You have 30 business days, excluding holidays and weekends, from the date of offense to take care of your citation.

2. Can I take care of my citation over the phone?

A telephone call does not constitute an appearance. Appearance for a citation must be made in person or by mail.

3. Can I send someone to take care of my citation for me?

State law will only allow a licensed attorney to represent someone else on a citation. Each Defendant is required to appear in person or by mail unless legal representation is acquired.

4. Is it required to hire an attorney to handle my case?

No. You may retain an attorney at your own expense, but it is not required by law to handle your case. Because the Municipal Court deals strictly with fine-only offenses, the Court is not responsible for appointing an attorney.

5. How much is my citation?

6. What forms of payment are accepted?

Cash, personal check, money order, Visa, and Mastercard. Payments can also be made online. Personal checks will not be accepted for any violation in active warrant status.
