AUSTIN, TEXAS - October 24, 2019 -Today at the Annual Texas Fire Marshals Association Conference and Awards Banquet the Trophy Club Fire Department was awarded the 2019 Achievement of Excellence Silver Level Award. TXFMA President John Paul Erskine Stated: "I am very excited and proud to present this Silver Level Award to the Trophy Club Fire Department whose hard work in fire prevention activities has earned such a prestigious award through their dedication and professionalism which is the cornerstone of this award, association, and its members".
The Achievement of Excellence in Fire Prevention Award ("AEFP Award") is an annual award to recognize organizations for performance excellence in fire prevention (Only 4 cities in the State received the award). Established in 2008, the AEFP Award is administered by the Texas Fire Marshal's Association (TxFMA"), the official State Chapter of the International Fire Marshal's Association.
To successfully receive the "Achievement of Excellence in Fire Prevention" award, the applicant must obtain a total of at least 125 points for Bronze Level/ 150 points for Silver/ 175 points for Gold out of a possible 200 points.

2. Fire and Life Safety program 50 possible points
3. Performance metrics and CQI program 25 possible points
4. Web-based communications and automation 25 possible points
5. Certification, education, and development 25 possible points

About the Trophy Club Fire Department
The Trophy Club Fire Department is committed to Humbly Serve, Save Lives, and Protect Property. The Trophy Club Fire Department was initially established in 1982 as an all-volunteer organization. Today, the department has grown to include 15 professional Firefighter/Paramedics, 14 part-time professional Firefighter/EMTs, and 4 certified volunteers. Community Programs & Services

Fire Inspections
The Fire Marshal and Certified Fire Inspectors review construction plans for all new construction and remodels to determine compliance with fire code requirements. In addition, personnel review submittals and perform related inspections for all new fire protection, fire detection, and fire alarm systems. All commercial buildings must have a final fire inspection prior to being issued a Certificate of Occupancy. Inspections are also performed annually on all commercial properties, churches, schools and apartment buildings.
Emergency Management
