Here we are in June already and the weather is heating up to a boil. It has been taunting Texas with a nice day and then quickly it storms. It's been one of those years in the weather department. Everyone is ready for the summer heat to stabilize with warmer temperatures and sunny days, especially the kids.
But before we fully embrace the summertime fun, we have to thank the crossing guards of Trophy Club and the work they do daily when it was icing, hailing, raining, steaming and everything in between.
Let us all take this moment to thank all of the crossing guards that braved the crazy weather this school year. It takes a special person to do this job. Depending on the school schedule these wonderful people were out braving the elements two or three times a day. Most days, with a smile on their faces—that is if their scarves weren't covering their mouths. They talk to the kids while they are making sure they get across the streets safely.
Captain Steve Woodard is especially proud of the Crossing Guard team this year and their year of extreme success. “I’m referring to traffic flow around the schools with virtually no accidents or injuries. It didn’t happen by chance. Crossing Guards sacrificed and served daily to ensure children were safe and traffic was flowing. They are an under-appreciated group, dedicated to an important task”, stated Captain Woodard.
So as the school year has come to a close, why not take the time out to thank a crossing guard for helping keep our kids safe? Sometimes a simple "thank you" can go a long way.
