[ARCHIVED] New Leadership Takes Shape at the Dais

Trophy Club, TX (May 18, 2023) – Nearly two weeks after the May 06, 2023 election, Trophy Club Town Council met to canvass the results and officially implement the changes to the TC dais.

Before we can welcome the new Mayor and Council Members to the dais, we first must express our gratitude and appreciation to our outgoing Mayor, Alicia Fleury D’Elia, and Council Member, Greg Lamont.

After taking over for Mayor Sanders in November 2020, Mayor Fleury D’Elia has led the community serving with kindness and heart. Mayor Fleury D’Elia has spent her time as Mayor of Trophy Club supporting the Northwest Independent School District students and families, supporting the local business community by championing patronage from near and far, as well as supporting infrastructure and development by planning for the future to ensure Trophy Club stays in pristine condition for years to come.

“We appreciate everything that Mayor Fleury D’Elia has done for our Town,” said Interim Town Manager Patrick Arata. “We know she has worked tirelessly to keep Trophy Club moving forward.”

It is also time to say thank you and farewell to Council Member Greg Lamont, who returned to the dais in November 2020, having filled both Place 1 and served as Mayor Pro Tem during his time. Council Member Lamont has served as an elected official and a volunteer on various boards, commissions, and committees during his time on and off Council from 2013 to 2023.  Council Member Lamont served as Mayor Pro Tem for three years, from 2014 to 2017, and served on the Town’s Budget Sub-Committee.

We appreciate both Mayor Fleury D’Elia and Council Member Lamont’s commitment to the community and their “service above self” leadership, especially following challenges from COVID and Snowmageddon in Trophy Club.

With these changes, we continue to navigate forward with the Town’s strategic direction. First, we welcome Jeannette Tiffany as the new Mayor of Trophy Club. Mayor Tiffany has been actively supporting Trophy Club since she moved here in 2009. She served as a Council Member for Place 2 from May 2011 to May 2014 and held the position of Mayor Pro Tem from 2013-2014. Additionally, she volunteered with the Trophy Club Women's Club, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Mayor Tiffany has been very active in Trophy Club over the years as she believes the community is at its best when “neighbors are helping neighbors.” She has a simple philosophy, “We all owe it to our neighbor to be the best we can.”

“Trophy Club is our home, giving me opportunities to contribute to the growth and future of TC,” stated Mayor Tiffany. “As the new Mayor, I look forward to working with the community, Council Members, and staff to protect our heritage, keeping ‘Trophy Club. a great place to call home.’”

Next, we welcome to Place 1, Mrs. Stacey Bauer. Council Member Bauer is serving her first time on the dais, but that doesn’t mean she is new to the strategic direction of Trophy Club. Council Member Bauer has dedicated several years to volunteering on various boards, commissions, and committees. Council Member Bauer’s involvement in the community has grown over the years.  By actively engaging with the community and immersing herself in the heart of various community activities, she has gained firsthand insight into the needs and initiatives of the community.

“I look forward to working with Mayor Tiffany and our Town Council and staff,” stated Council Member Bauer. “We have opened the door to new possibilities in our town! We really are blessed to live in Trophy Club, as it is a great place to call home.”

The next open seat was for Place 2, which Council Member Jeff Beach will be filling for another term on the dais. Council Member Beach brings a wealth of experience and knowledge, having previously served in various capacities. He spent four years on the Planning and Zoning Commission, the last two as Chairman, and served as an alternate on the Zoning Board of Adjustment. Additionally, Council Member Beach actively participated in the citizen's advisory Ad Hoc Committee on Connectivity. Council Member Beach believes in the fiduciary responsibility of the Town Council to protect the resident’s taxpayer dollars and maintain the lowest possible tax rates without sacrificing the current Town services and amenities we all enjoy.

“There's no greater challenge and no greater honor than to be in public service.  Let’s always remember our calling to serve others and unite to make Trophy Club the best it can be,” stated Council Member Beach.
