[ARCHIVED] Stormwater Reporting and Management Available

Stormwater Smart

Trophy Club, TX (March 07, 2023) - Town staff has been busy managing the stormwater reporting process. This process makes reporting stormwater-related issues much easier to report and allows staff to keep a record of how many requests are received each year per the MS4 Permit requirements. Residents can call the stormwater reporting line, 682-237-2915, or they can visit the Online Services tab on the Town’s website to access a form easily. "I am so glad we have different ways for our residents to report stormwater issues and look forward to continuing to service these submitted requests," said Kevin O'Dell, Streets Superintendent for Trophy Club.

Stormwater: What Does It All Mean?

Stormwater is rainwater or snowmelt that, instead of seeping into the earth, "runs off" via gutters, storm drains, and ditches into creeks, streams, rivers, lakes, and the ocean.

Testing and monitoring stormwater is important because it is the best means to accomplish the goal of stormwater pollution prevention. In addition, it reduces erosion, flooding, and many other environmental and health concerns, when stormwater inspections are regularly performed. In 2012, the Town of Trophy Club contracted with Freese and Nicholes, Inc to perform a Stormwater Master Plan to help set the course of action regarding stormwater education and planning.

The accessibility for residents to report issues is an example of how Trophy Club staff are working to make processes easy and accessible for residents.  The Street Services Division is a division of the Community Development Department and is responsible for all aspects of maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation of the Town's 42 linear miles of concrete streets. The team conducts street sweeping bi-annually and curb repairs as necessary. Street Services also responds to emergencies ranging from the treatment of roads during winter months to flooding.

The mission of the Community Development team is to serve all persons in a positive and courteous manner and help ensure that Trophy Club continues to be a healthy, safe, attractive, and enjoyable place to live, work, or visit. We help plan the Town’s form and character, support community values, preserve the environment, promote the wise use of resources, and protect public health and safety.
