Trophy Club, TX (November 4, 2022) – During the Trophy Club Town Council Meeting on Tuesday, October 25th, Chief of Police Patrick Arata awarded several team members from the Trophy Club Police Department. We are so fortunate to have such a great police team in place protecting Trophy Club.
Police Officer Joshua Hernandez received the Life Saving award.
On August 15, 2021, Officer Hernandez responded to an unconscious female who was not breathing and in cardiac arrest. Upon entering the residence, he observed an adult female on the bedroom floor with an adult male trying to wake her. The man claimed the woman swallowed tape and lost her conscience. After verifying that the woman had no pulse, Officer Hernandez initiated Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) but quickly moved her into the recovery position to facilitate aspiration drainage. Upon reassessing her condition, officers administered two doses of Narcan with no visible effect. Officers resumed CPR for several more minutes until Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) arrived and applied an Automated Chest Compression (ACC) device. The EMT subsequently transported the woman to the hospital where she made a full recovery. While maintaining his composure in a high-stress situation, Officer Hernandez assessed the victim’s physical condition and took the appropriate immediate actions to clear her airway and maintain circulation which prevented devastating physical consequences or death.
