Trophy Club, TX (May 26, 2022) – The Town of Trophy Club welcomes Jason Wise as its new Fire Chief.
The Town of Trophy Club has completed its search for the department’s Fire Chief. The selection concludes a rigorous recruiting and selection process which included a panel interview with Town Manager Wade Carroll, Interim Fire Chief David Jones, Police Chief Patrick Arata, and HR Director Haley Archer followed by a lunch interview with department directors, a meeting with Fire Department personnel at all ranks, a personality profile matching the candidate to both the position and our team, and finally a writing exercise.
“I am happy to announce that Chief Jason Wise was the choice from each level of our organization, and all believed he will be a great fit for the department and our community,” said Town Manager Wade Carroll. “Through the recruitment process, Wise’s character and leadership qualities set him apart from other candidates and will make him a tremendous asset now and in the future for our Fire Department and the residents we serve.”
Chief Wise is a new Trophy Club resident moving here from Grapevine earlier this year. He will be starting in June and will be transitioning to the position with Interim Chief Jones over the next 30 days. Both he and the department are eager for his arrival.
Chief Wise is a native Texan and has been married to his wife Deidre for the past 26 years. They are the proud parents of two remarkable children, Makenna and Dylan. The entire family lives locally and serves as healthcare professionals. Ironically, Chief Wise is a distant cousin of Edward Waylon Wise, who married the granddaughter of Charles Medlin, one of the original settlers of the area. Both Etta and Edward are buried in the Medlin Cemetery.
Chief Wise holds a Master of Science degree in Emergency Services Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Administration from Columbia Southern University. He is a licensed paramedic with the Texas Department of State Health Services and holds multiple certifications under the Texas Commission on Fire Protection.
Chief Wise comes to us from the Southlake Fire Department, where he joined in 1997. During his tenure, he rose to the rank of Battalion Chief and served as the chairperson for the Operations and SOP committees. He was an original member of the Honor Guard, and he helped implement and manage the department’s Health & Wellness program.
Wise stated, “It is my honor to accept this position and proudly serve with the respected members of the Trophy Club Fire Department, Town Council and the Town’s executive staff. I look forward to building relationships and upholding the tradition and values that have made the town of Trophy Club what it is today.”
The Trophy Club Fire Department employs 15 full-time sworn firefighters/paramedics working a shift based schedule ensuring emergency medical and fire services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The department is led by the Fire Chief, a Deputy Chief/Fire Marshal, and an administrative assistant. The department utilizes part time personnel to augment full time staffing and decrease overtime costs.
“I was glad to see Chief Wise’s name as an applicant. He has an outstanding reputation in the Fire Service and is well known in the industry in our area,” stated Town Manager Wade Carroll. “I was even more pleased when he accepted the job. Chief Wise will take the Fire Department to the next level in service and excellence.”
