Trophy Club, TX (April 26, 2022) – We are excited to announce the promotion of Jorge Guzman as the Parks Superintendent. Jorge has worked for the Town of Trophy Club Parks and Recreation Department for 11 years. Jorge was hired as a Parks Maintenance Worker and worked in that position for several years establishing a great rapport with his fellow team while demonstrating great dedication and pride in his work.
“Jorge has always been a wonderful asset to our team; I have enjoyed watching him grow in various roles and as a result Jorge has earned becoming our next Parks Superintendent. I am excited for Jorge in his new position and excited for the future of the Parks Department under his leadership” said Tony Jaramillo, Director of Parks and Recreation.
Previously, Jorge worked for a private landscape company for several of years where he began to gain knowledge of lawn and landscape maintenance. It was there his passion for the outdoors landscape industry grew. Jorge has earned three promotions during his time within the Parks & Recreation Department; Irrigation Maintenance Worker, Irrigation Crew Leader and now Parks Superintendent.
“Jorge is a great example of the possibilities for all employees that have the drive to serve our citizens and work hard towards the accomplishment of departmental and personal goals. Jorge started his career as a maintenance worker 1 and because of his work ethic and excellent work product and leadership potential he was moved to different areas in Parks learning every position on the team which has made him an excellent choice for Parks Superintendent” said Wade Carroll, Town Manager.
Jorge’s recent accomplishments have involved the installation of drip irrigation in all Town owned flower beds, irrigation audits and strategic irrigation installation ensuring adequate water coverage while decreasing water usage and budget savings. Jorge’s knowledge does not stop with irrigation, he also carries an abundant amount of knowledge when it comes to plant selection and design, tree maintenance and turf maintenance.
Whether maintaining visual appealing, sumptuous parks and medians or beautiful flower beds, Jorge has a keen ability to create positive results.
