Mayor Alicia Fleury and Town Council celebrated the Trophy Club Rotary and read a proclamation in Council Chambers in February declaring, March 08, 2022 as ROTARY CLUB OF TROPHY CLUB DAY in honor of their three-year anniversary. Thank you to ALL ROTARIANS for your continued service ABOVE SELF!

PROCLAMATION 2022-O3

A PROCLAMATION OF THE TROPHY CLUB TOWN COUNCIL SUPPORTING AND RECOGNIZING OUR ROTARY CLUB ON MARCH 8, 2022 MARKING THEIR THREE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY AS TROPHY CLUB ROTARY DAY

WHEREAS, Rotary International is a global network of over 46,000 member clubs worldwide, with a membership of 1.4 million individuals known as Rotarians, who see a world where people unite and take action to create a lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and within ourselves; and on March 8, 2019, the Trophy Club Rotary Club was established with its first meeting; and

WHEREAS, Rotary Clubs are grounded in the same values, with no two being the same, because each community has its own unique needs, and at club meetings in communities across the globe, members come together to strengthen their connections to friends and neighbors and their commitment to improving lives; and

WHEREAS, Trophy Club Rotarians have stayed true to “Service above Self” each year by creating, implementing and participating in many service, awareness and fundraising initiatives and events, including: Keeping Trophy Club Beautiful (picking up trash and debris along the entire stretch of Hwy 114 in Trophy Club), National First Responder Appreciation Event (awarded over $20K in scholarships and awards during a community-wide event), Metroport Meals-on-Wheels (providing food and delivery of meals to local clients), Ride for Polio (continuing the quest of eradicating polio, worldwide), Supporting Local Businesses (yard signs throughout Trophy Club), Partnering with Give Small, Help Big in 76262 (raising approximately $10K for local businesses while providing that same amount in gift cards to Roanoke Food Pantry), RYLA (sponsored six BNHS Students to the 4-day professional leadership development Rotary Youth Leadership Camp), Christ Haven (participated in Hearts for Homes), and Presbyterian Night Shelter (Warm Clothing Drive), just to name a few; and

WHEREAS, this March marks the 3RD Year Anniversary of the Trophy Club Rotary Club whereby Rotarians have learned from local leaders, such as County Judge Andy Eads, Commissioner Dianne Edmondson, NISD Superintendent Ryder Warren, Claudia Beeny (House of Shine), Former NFL Players Demarcus Ware and Russell Maryland, General Terrence Dake (four-star general who served as Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps and flew Marine One), Grant Price (the Mentalist), Larry North, John Israel (Thank You Project), Lori Cerami (Swim For Elise), Author Sandy Storm (focusing on human-trafficking), Carson’s Village, GallantFew, Trophy Club Women’s Club, Community Storehouse, and participated in most of our community events and activities.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, MAYOR ALICIA L. FLEURY, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE TROPHY CLUB TOWN COUNCIL, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM MARCH 8, 2022 as:

TROPHY CLUB ROTARY DAY

PASSED AND APPROVED by the Town Council on February 22, 2022.
