Trophy Club, Texas (August 11, 2021) - The Trophy Club Town Council approved new changes to the Town meeting schedule during the Town Council meeting on August 10, 2021.
Town Council meetings have been temporarily changed and will now be held on the second and fourth Mondays of every month at 7:00 PM. This change will be effective for all meetings beginning in September through the remainder of the 2021 calendar year. The first Monday night Council Meeting will be on September 13, 2021.
“The work of Council is vital to the continued success and future readiness of the Town of Trophy Club,” said Town Manager Wade Carroll. “The schedule change helps to ensure that we don’t have quorum issues for the remainder of the year and staff’s work can continue on important items such as the completion of the Town’s FY2022 budget.”
The Town Council serves as a link between the residents of Trophy Club and their municipal government.
The Trophy Club Charter provides that the Trophy Club Town Council consists of the Mayor and six Council members and that a quorum of 4 Council members must be present to have a meeting of pass any ordinance or expenditure over $25,000.
“Due to scheduling conflicts, it was unanimously agreed upon to alter our council meeting schedule to assure the proper quorum and full participation at our meetings,” said Mayor Fleury. “I appreciate all of the Councilmembers’ willingness to adjust their schedules to meet the needs of our residents. This shows what a collaborative group we have at the dais and I am thankful to everyone for making this temporary change work”.
