[ARCHIVED] It's Baseball Time in Trophy Club

Opening Day TCR NF

Trophy Club, TX (March 26, 2021) – Trophy Club Roanoke Youth Baseball Associations’ (TCR) Spring League commences tomorrow, March 27 at Independence Park East on Field 5 and is set to begin at 9 AM.

Tony Jaramillo, Director of TC Parks & Recreation, explains he is ecstatic for Saturday.

“Opening Day has been long-awaited because we see baseball as a sweet relief for many families we serve here in Trophy Club,” he said.

“This time last year, we had to cancel our spring leagues due to the town-wide lockdown because of the pandemic. We know families are eager to get their kids out of the house and have a safe active place for them to play,” he continued.

Trophy Club Roanoke Youth Baseball is organized into 5 separate divisions which offer baseball opportunities for children ages 4-14.  TCRYBA has provided an opportunity for over 1,000 children each year to play baseball in the town of Trophy Club and City of Roanoke.  The league is committed to providing a fun, safe and challenging baseball experience for any boy or girl who wants to play baseball.

Trophy Club has been taking steps to ensure the 2021 Little League season runs smoothly. COVID-19 safety measures include the following:

  • Addition of hand sanitizer stations in dugouts
  • Addition of new water fountains with touchless water bottle feature
  • Addition of extra COVID-19 safety signage
  • Daily restroom cleaning and disinfecting

Jaramillo expects Opening Day to be a “fun-filled community event where the community can gather and celebrate the start of our spring leagues.”

Trophy Club Mayor Alicia Fleury and Roanoke Mayor Carl “Scooter” Gierisch will be in attendance to celebrate along with TC Fire Fighters, Police Officers and Parks and Recreation staff.
