[ARCHIVED] Be Kind Week in Trophy Club!

Be Kind in TC Week

During the August 11 Town Council Meeting, the Mayor and Council approved a proclamation recognizing August 16-23, 2020 as BE KIND WEEK in TC! The proclamation was created in an effort to remind each of us during these trying times that kindness is free and long-lasting!

KAW News2Trophy Club is no stranger to kindness programs and goodwill, as a reminder, for the last several years, "Campaign 4 Kindness" is a month-long celebration honored in February designed to bring together the entire community in a joint effort to spread kindness. Northwest Independent School District, Beck Elementary School, Lakeview Elementary School, Medlin Middle School, Byron Nelson High School, and more partner together for this important initiative! We hope the issues with COVID-19 settle by February so schools are back to In-Person learning and we can look forward to another year of "Campaign 4 Kindness" in Trophy Club! Learn more about Hope Kindness Community, the nonprofit who helps to spear head the campaign in TC, and their efforts HERE

KAW- Everybody Love EverbodyIn addition, Trophy Club honors local resident Chris Bailey in his annual Everybody Love Everybody efforts inside and outside of town!  Mr. Bailey has been a tremendous example of promoting positive, nurturing relationships within our families, our TC community, and beyond.  Spreading kindness and love can make the world a better place. He encourages everyone to take time to spread some kindness and show people that kindness matters and impacts us all. To learn more about #EverybodyLoveEverybody and Mr. Bailey himself, CLICK HERE.

In attendance at the August 11 Town Council Meeting to accept the proclamation were Allan Vivian and his wife Kristin on behalf of #OneTrophyClub who are the husband and wife duo that created the "Faith, Hope, Love" signs that were placed around Trophy Club during the pandemic.  The Vivians created and placed these signs out of the kindness in their own heart and with their passion support the community.  This selfless simple endeavor grew exponentially and made a HUGE impact for all those who saw these signs all over town! Below is the proclamation that was read and approved during the August 11 Town Council meeting.Be Kind Week

WHEREAS, Kindness is defined as the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate as well as selfless, compassionate, and merciful. It has been studied that being kind can strengthen relationships and serves a sense of satisfaction in life as it requires courage and strength to be active when you see people in need; and

WHEREAS, All across the globe, we are living in unprecedented times unlike any that our world has seen as we deal with challenges coming from all directions; and right now, our world needs more kindness and less judgement; and

WHEREAS, We have been given so much more time at home to get to know ourselves, our spouses, children, grandchildren, and neighbors a little bit better while dealing with Covid19. We have had time to reflect, think, watch, learn, write, and just talk to one another about how to deal with working from home, going back to work, being extra cautious, scheduling a surgery, preparing for an interview; dealing with a loss of a loved one, the loss of a job, the loss of a business, or talking about the day to day events that we have taken for granted; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Trophy Club recognizes the value of simple acts of kindness and would ask everyone to participate in making our community stand out from all others by changing the future, the past and the present by practicing kindness and recognizing that everyone has a journey, things always work out best with kindness, and knowing that kind thoughts and actions create a better environment; Happiness is found by practicing kindness; and

WHEREAS, Now is the right time to practice kindness and be kind even when it is not convenient, popular, or in your favor; and so, “Try a Little Kindness” as Glen Campbell once wrote and sang; and

WHEREAS, as Kindness brings peace for today and tomorrow, it also turns what we have into enough, and more, as it is rewarding;

WHEREAS, Say a kind word, open a door for someone, help someone carry a load, give honest compliments, send thank-you cards, tell someone how special they are to you, help our elderly neighbors with yard work, grocery shopping, and above all, be kind to yourself; there are many opportunities to practice kindness;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, MAYOR C. NICK SANDERS, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE TROPHY CLUB TOWN COUNCIL DO HEREBY PROCLAIM: AUGUST 16 - 23, 2020 AS “BE KIND WEEK” in Trophy Club, Texas PASSED AND APPROVED by the Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, this 11th day of August, 2020.

As you can see, Trophy Club is a community-centered around love and support throughout the Town.  Deeply impassioned to help remind others that kindness makes a tremendous difference to everyone, our Mayor, Town Council, and leadership staff continue to support programs that help others!
