[ARCHIVED] Trophy Club Reopens Slow and Steady

COVID-19- Town Hall and Amenity Openings

Trophy Club, TX (05/20/2020, 2020) – With Governor Abbott’s announcement to re-open Texas, the Town of Trophy Club is preparing to reopen many town facilities and amenities to the public

The Town closed many of its buildings on March 20 because of the coronavirus pandemic but has been working hard to keep services going for the community.

Town Manager Steve Norwood stated, “I want to say how proud I am of the men and women of this organization who have done an amazing job keeping our operations moving and doing so with such a strong emphasis on customer service and taking care of our Trophy Club residents.  It has been truly a TEAM EFFORT, and each employee should be commended for always keeping that in the forefront”.  Norwood went on to say, “We will continue to provide outstanding services during an extremely challenging, stressful and at times scary environment.”

Trophy Club’s first reopened some facilities on May 01, which included the Disc Golf Course, Bocce Ball Court, Batting Cages and Tennis Courts with more continued after that. With each facility and amenity opening, guidelines and protective measures outlines in the Governor’s executive order will be followed.  To see a full list of openings and status updates, please click here

During this time, we will remain flexible as dates could change based on information we receive from local, state, and federal health experts regarding the spread of the virus to keep our staff, their families, and our community safe.

Included in the scheduled openings, Town Hall scheduled to open May 26 and the Community Pool scheduled to open mid/late June.  Assistant Town Manager Wade Carroll said “we will start phasing back in a “back to normal” work schedule, and that definition of a back to normal work schedule may change. Our main priority is to ensure the safety of our employees.  We have all made sacrifices, and it’s likely we will have to make more sacrifices, but WE will work through this together.”

The Town will continue to monitor the situation and constantly evaluate the status in the coming days and weeks. In the meantime, know that Trophy Club staff, while still working remotely, continues to serve the residents, businesses, and corporate partners at the highest level.

As always, please stay safe, keep a distance of no less than 6 feet from others outside your family, regularly wash your hands, wear cloth face coverings (masks), and continue to do your part to help end the spread of COVID-19.
