TROPHY CLUB – TX | Hope Kindness Community is the local organization that is bringing together the entire community in a joint effort to spread kindness. Northwest ISD Education Foundation, Beck Elementary School, Lakeview Elementary School, Medlin Middle School, Byron Nelson High School, Thinkkindness.org and the Town of Trophy Club have partnered in the month-long “Campaign 4 Kindness”.
On January 14, 2020, the Town of Trophy Club leadership, along with our local PT(S)A leaders, came together to kick-off the #Campaign4Kindness movement with a Proclamation at the Town Council meeting. Mayor Nick Sanders remarked, “As Mayor of Trophy Club, along with Town Council, I’m proclaiming February 2020 as Kindness Awareness Month. We encourage our residents to participate in “Campaign 4 Kindness” in the spirit of compassion, kindness, and goodwill toward all persons.”
Throughout the entire month, there will be events, activities and daily kindness challenges to accomplish the spreading of goodwill in Trophy Club. Trophy Club schools are going to be challenged to perform Random, as well as Conscious, Acts of Kindness with the goal of inspiring students to choose kindness and prove that every person, regardless of their circumstances, can make a difference in the world. Campaign 4 Kindness Assemblies sponsored IN-FULL by Northwest ISD Education Foundation at BES, BNHS, MMS, as well as a Community Assembly, will be held during the month of February.

The Northwest ISD Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization composed of community leaders and businesses, working together to enhance the quality of education in the Northwest Independent School District. Their mission is to provide financial support to empower NISD educators, engage the community and encourage future-ready students.
Tammy McClure, Student Leadership Teacher of Byron Nelson High School stated, “The intentionality of Kindness Month is to have a common focus that our town and beyond can experience big results through the small, yet powerful acts of many. This years’ theme is Creating a Culture of Kindness, which we will be talking about more in the assemblies.” Paige Cantrell, Medlin Middle School Principal says “Teaching and modeling kindness and empathy to our students is an imperative part of helping them be successful throughout life. I love working in a community that understands the importance of being kind to all”. Students will be asking members of the community to join in spreading kindness throughout their workplace, home, and the world. BNHS Student Council and Senior PTSA President Brandon Boeth, says, “I think it’s great we’re doing this again, for the third year! Having all the schools spreading kindness is cool! I’m glad to have seen it grow and I know I will take what I have learned from it and use it moving forward”.
In addition to the Proclamation, the Town of Trophy Club is hosting a “Fun Run 4 Kindness” on February 22nd. The goal is to create a massive community gathering to showcase the importance of kindness. While participation is free, runners and attendees are encouraged to perform acts of kindness in honor of the month and to bring new or gently used backs to be donated to impoverished school children in Jamaica. Exceptional examples of kindness and education will be in attendance or have booths including the Jogging 4 Joseph group, coordinated by Xplor Preschool in memory of and supporting awareness of Joseph Adam Diet who passed away from Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) in 2017. And of course, Run Ranger Run advocates who are highlighting the difficulties so many veterans face when transitioning home from deployment by running 565 miles and supporting the efforts of the Gallant Few Inc.
Everyone is encouraged to spread kindness and share their photos on social media by using #Campaign4Kindness and their respective hashtags. Alicia Fleury (Town Council, HKC and PTSA) says, “Through this Campaign, students, their families, and our residents will be called to action to change their community and the world.”
