[ARCHIVED] GFOA PRESENTS TOWN WITH CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT

GFOA News Flash

Trophy Club, TX (December 31, 2019) – On December 31, 2019, the Town of Trophy Club was notified that the towns’ comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended 2018 qualified for the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by the Town of Trophy Club and its management.

When a Certificate of Achievement is awarded to a government, an Award of Financial Reporting Achievement (AFRA) is also presented to the individual(s) or department designated by the government as primarily responsible for its having earned the Certificate. This award has been sent to the Town of Trophy Club as designated on the application.

The GFOA distinguished Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting represents a significant achievement for the Town of Trophy Club. It reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting.

In order to receive this award, the town must publish a budget document that meets program criteria. Creation of the entire budget document and the achievement of this award would not have been possible without countless hours of work from town staff and in particular the Finance Department and Assistant Town Manager, Wade Carroll. It reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. This award is valid for a one year period.
