National Day of Prayer Event - LIVE STREAM

Thursday, May 6, 2021

2021 marks the 70th anniversary of the Annual National Day of Prayer – seven decades of prayer for our Nation and our Nation’s Leaders.

God has been faithful and constant through the ages and throughout America’s history as we have sought Him for wisdom, courage, direction, and comfort, especially during challenging times. The Annual National Day of Prayer gives us the opportunity to mobilize unified public prayer in our neighborhoods, cities, counties, and states to humbly seek God’s guidance for our leaders and His grace upon us as a people.

Local Observance of the National Day of Prayer

The local observance for our 76262 area will be live streamed on May 6 at 12 noon on Facebook at the link below. Please join us as pastors from local churches lead prayers and community leaders convey messages of faith, hope, and encouragement. Thousands of similar gatherings coordinated by National Day of Prayer Task Force Coordinators will also take place across our nation on this day to unite millions of people in prayer for our country. The theme for the 2021 National Day of Prayer is: "LORD pour out Your LOVE, LIFE, and LIBERTY".

Significance of the National Day of Prayer

The National Day of Prayer has been a vital part of our heritage since the first call to prayer in 1775, when the Continental Congress asked the colonies to pray for wisdom in forming a nation. In 1952, a joint resolution by Congress declared an annual observance of the National Day of Prayer. In 1988, the law was amended, permanently setting the day as the first Thursday of every May. The National Day of Prayer Task Force was formed in 1989 as a privately funded organization to mobilize unified public prayer for America representing a Judeo-Christian expression of the national observance.
