As 2021 comes to an end, it’s a perfect time to reflect. Though there were challenges for many, the year also had life settle into a new normal. I’m optimistic that 2022 will be better and I’m also so thankful and proud of our community. I saw many acts of kindness as we came together to help those in need and support each other through business closures, loss of loved ones, financial hardships and so much more. The holidays can be very difficult, so we want you to know that you’re not alone…you matter…you are important…you are appreciated…you are loved! Let’s continue to be there for our community and be the light for one another as we enter 2022!
Please join us at Christmas in the Park as we light up the Christmas Tree on December 11th at 6:30 PM! This years celebration will include not only the Christmas tree lighting but I will be reading 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, as well as choir performances (courtesy of Lakeview Elementary Chorus students), pictures with Santa himself, face painting, refreshments, crafts, giveaways and SO MUCH MORE! Also this year, Bobcat Youth Football & Cheer have teamed up with our friendly resident, Chris Bailey for his annual toy collection, Touchdown for Toys. This group of dedicated volunteer will be set up at the roundabout at indy Park East collecting toys as a lead into the Christmas in the Park event from 4:30PM-6:30PM!
Don't worry if you miss the chance to drop off a toy during the December 11th collection because Trophy Club Police AND Fire are each collection sites for Toys for TOTS! Happening NOW through December 15th you can spread holiday cheer by donating new, unwrapped toys at both the TC Police Station and at the TC Fire Station! AND, new this year, if you don't have time to come by in person to drop off a toy, it's no problem....the TCPD team is gladly accept Amazon packages delivered directly to the station! Feel free to have them shipped to:
Trophy Club Police Departmentc/o Toys for Tots1 Trophy Wood DriveTrophy Club, TX 76262
Whether you support Touchdown for Toys, Toys for Tots or any other program taking place this holiday season, your generosity and KINDNESS is truly making someone's Christmas much brighter this holiday season!
Also, please join us on December 18th at 11:00 AM at Medlin Cemetery for Wreaths Across America. Volunteers will be placing wreaths on the graves of our 75 veterans in the Medlin Cemetery. There will be a small ceremony before the wreaths are placed on the graves. This event is done in coordination with the TC Fire and Police Departments as well as the Metroport Veterans Association. The wreaths will be in place until after the New Year and the community will then harvest the wreaths. This is the THIRD year Medlin Cemetery will participate in Wreaths Across American which is a nationwide event. It is a TRULY special event!
I would like to wish everyone a very safe holiday season and a prosperous happy new year. As always, thank you for your continued support and dedication to our great town! With neighborly love and togetherness, we will continue to thrive in 2022!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Mayor Alicia Fleury
