March in the Spring!

Posted on March 9, 2023 at 7:02 AM by Jill Lind

Last month, we kicked off our 6th Annual Campaign 4 Kindness with a proclamation accepted by Dan and Jen Hilbert, the kind folks of Dan’s Bagels.  Thanks to everyone who participated in the Kindness service projects and events, including our 5K&Fun Run 4 Kindness. In addition, Melody Anderson, Co-Chair of the Trophy Club Women's Club, was presented the Black History Month Proclamation, recognizing past barriers to progress for marginalized individuals, specifically people of color.

We also survived what seems to be our annual,  Snowmageddon 2023! Although it wasn't as severe as in 2021, our amazing community and staff still pulled together once again.

Now, onto Spring! On March 18th, come on out to Indy East for “Touch a Truck,” where kids of all ages can explore the Town’s emergency response vehicles and heavy machinery while getting to know their operators.

On April 8th, hop on over to Indy East for our annual “EGGstravaganza”! Make sure you sign up for the TCWC Spring Garage Sale on April 22nd and don’t forget that on April 29th. We have the Hazardous Waste Community Clean-Up at BNHS Parking Lot. Also, on April 29th, head back over to Indy East because you definitely don’t want to miss the 2nd Annual Taste of Trophy Club!

I’m looking forward to seeing everyone around Town enjoying a beautiful Spring!

February is full Kindness

Posted on February 2, 2023 at 1:23 PM by Jill Lind

“Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.” —Princess Diana.

One of the very special things about our Town is the eagerness to spread kindness. February is National Kindness Month, Kindness Week takes place from February 13th through February 19th, Random Acts of Kindness Day falls on February 17th, and our Run 4 Kindness will be on February 25th.

For the past five years, Trophy Club has been the host to Campaign 4 Kindness... a student-led, community-supported initiative, including a Fun Run 4 Kindness/5K, School Assemblies, and Service Projects through a coordinated partnership between Northwest ISD, Beck Elementary School, Lakeview Elementary School, Medlin Middle School, Byron Nelson High School, the Town of Trophy Club and Hope Kindness Community (HKC). Designed to create a culture of kindness, this Campaign brings together students, their families, and our residents, calling them to action in order to change their community and the world. Several of our residents, nonprofits, and businesses also step in to help our schools and families in need, even while struggling during uncertain times.

I couldn’t be more proud to call Trophy Club home and to volunteer alongside these amazing people who put service above self. I’m super excited about the 6th Annual Campaign 4 Kindness and hope you join in spreading kindness this month and all year long.

“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” —Aesop.

January Kicks off New Year!

Posted on January 3, 2023 at 11:06 AM by Jill Lind

I, along with my fellow Council Members, would like to thank our Town Staff and residents who have dedicated their time (and their hearts) to help Trophy Club thrive this past year, meeting and exceeding our goals.

"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream." ~CS Lewis

As we move forward in the new year, we’ll continue our mission of keeping Trophy Club a great place to call home, to visit, to work and to enjoy.

We have a full slate of fantastic community events for 2023, starting with our 6th Annual Campaign 4 Kindness for the month of February. Visit www.trophyclub.org/events for more information and to register for the Run 4 Kindness.

“Well, we have a whole new year ahead of us. And wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all be a little more gentle with each other, a little more loving, and have a little more empathy, and maybe, next year at this time we'd like each other a little more.” ~Judy Garland

I look forward to the many exciting things to come in 2023 and hope to see you around Town enjoying all we have to offer!

“Ring out the old, ring in the new. Ring, happy bells, across the snow: The year is going, let him go; ring out the false, ring in the true." ~Alfred Lord Tennyson
