September We Always Remember

Posted on September 2, 2022 at 9:15 AM by Jill Lind

Twenty-one years ago, our world changed when terrorists commandeered four airliners, using them as weapons of mass destruction, killing two thousand nine hundred seventy-seven people and injuring thousands at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Somerset County, Pennsylvania.

This horrific event touched the hearts of so many that commemorative ceremonies are held at all three sites and throughout our nation, including Trophy Club, to honor those who died that tragic day.  It makes my heart swell with pride, knowing that our Town is one of those places that refuse to forget those sacrifices made.

We remember the first responders running into harm’s way, attempting to rescue thousands in the twin towers. Today we honor those fallen heroes and thank the heroes here with us now as they continue to run towards danger and not from it.

We also remember the 33 airline crew members killed as the very first responders in uniform that day to die in the line of duty.

Today and every day, we should cherish our freedoms and be grateful to those who came before us to ensure that we keep them.  Please join us for a Patriot Day Ceremony at TCFD on 9/11 at 8:45 am as we come together as a people for the betterment of our Town, our State, and our Nation. May we always remember and never forget.

August is HERE - Let's get BACK TO SCHOOL TC!

Posted on August 3, 2022 at 2:13 PM by Jill Lind

It seems like we JUST started celebrating the start of the Summer, and now, we’re already gearing up for Back-to-School! Byron Nelson High School and all feeder school families are invited to “Meet the Bobcats!” on Monday, August 15th starting at 5:00 PM for our annual BNHS Back-to-School Festival and Community Pep Rally.  Meet this year’s Bobcat Athletes, Marching Band, Dazzlers & your Bobcat Cheerleading Squads.  Athletes from Varsity down to our youth level will take the field for introductions and performances through the new BNHS inflatable sports tunnel, donated by the Town of Trophy Club and the City of Roanoke.

Bobcat athletes and fans will get pumped up during this new pregame experience, complete with smoke, flags, and music! Hear from our new principal, Mrs. Deardorff, and other distinguished guests. Shop a variety of vendors, learn more from our local businesses, meet our generous sponsors, sample some tasty treats from several food trucks, listen to music, and have fun with friends as we all get ready to go Back-to-School!

I will see you THERE!
