Each December, on National Wreaths Across America Day, wreaths are placed at Arlington National Cemetery with the intention of Remembering and Honoring those who have sacrificed their lives for the freedoms of this country. More than 2,100 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad, join the effort by hosting ceremonies and honoring their local veterans.
Trophy Club continues to be honored to support this cause by hosting an event at Medlin Cemetery during the holiday season. Volunteers will be placing wreaths on the graves of our 71 veterans in the Medlin Cemetery. There will be a small ceremony before the wreaths are placed on the graves. This event is made possible through the coordination with the Trophy Club Fire, Police, Parks & Recreation Departments, and the Metroport Veterans Association.
The wreaths at Medlin Cemetery will remain in place through the New Year, when the wreaths will then be collected and harvested. Medlin Cemetery began hosting this event in 2019 with the hope that it will remain a Trophy Club tradition that will continue on for years to come.
