NISD Bond Election Info:

As Northwest ISD faces record-setting student enrollment growth, the district’s school board has unanimously voted to call a bond referendum that would build 12 new schools and additional facilities.

The board’s vote at its February 13 meeting approves the work of the community-led Long-Range Planning Committee, which is tasked with providing a recommendation for future schools, facilities, and similar projects to meet enrollment increases. If approved by voters, the referendum would make room for over 8,400 students new to the district as it continues to experience fast enrollment growth.

According to NISD, with the board’s approval, the referendum will now appear before voters on May 6 for consideration. Voters will have the opportunity to cast ballots on three propositions: new schools and educational facility updates ($1,672,193,000), new high school stadiums and updates to existing stadiums ($301,555,000), and technology devices ($21,752,000). While the total amount of the bond referendum across all three propositions is roughly $1.995 billion, voters will not see that figure. They will only see the monetary amount as divided into each proposition.

Political Campaign Signs

Political-SignsDuring campaign season, the landscape blooms with a special kind of flower - the political sign. Unlike wildflowers which are welcome anywhere, putting campaign signs on public property is illegal. So before you plant that sign, learn the law and keep Trophy Club beautiful.

Candidates should be aware that the Texas Ethics Commission, the Texas Department of Transportation, and many municipalities and schools have rules and ordinances governing the placement of political signs on public property and public right-of-way. Find out the rules in Trophy Club HERE.
