Swim Lesson Level Descriptions

The Trophy Club Community Pool aims to provide a comprehensive swim lesson program designed for swimmers ages 3 years and up. The program will consist of six progressive levels, each with entry and exit requirements. Level eligibility is determined by both age and skill of the swimmer. There will be a strong focus on water safety and water competency rather than technical skills. With few exceptions, there is minimal parent interaction during the classes.

Preschool Level 1

  • Ages three years and up
  • This class is designed for Preschool age children. Children will work on the basic fundamentals of swimming such as blowing bubbles, front and back floats, kicking, and basic pool safety.

Level 2

  • Ages three years and up
  • This class is for the beginner swimmers with basic water skills. Skills taught in this level include floating, gliding, elementary backstroke, front crawl, backstroke and pool safety. 

Level 3

  • Ages four years and up
  • This class is designed for children with basic swim skills who have successfully completed Levels 1 and 2. This level will build on the fundamental skills and introduce new techniques such as rhythmic breathing, breaststroke, and buoyancy control. 

Level 4

  • Ages five years and up
  • This class is for children who have successfully completed Levels 1-3. In this level, swimmers will continue to work towards mastering the front crawl, breaststroke, and backstroke while introducing new skills such as dolphin kick and treading water.

Level 5

  • Ages five years and up
  • This class is designed for the advanced swimmer who has successfully completed Levels 1-4. Swimmers will continue to work on technique and endurance for front crawl, breaststroke, dolphin kick, and backstroke while also learning advanced skills such as diving and buoyancy control.

Level 6 

  • Ages 6 years and up
  • This class is designed for the advanced swimmer who has successfully completed Levels 1-5. Students will continue to work on technique and endurance for all strokes, as well as practice competitive skills such as dives, flip turns, and race starts.

  • 10:20 - 10:55 a.m.

Sessions

Each session is two weeks long, totaling eight lessons.

  • Session 1: June 8 through June 18
  • Session 2: June 22 through July 2
  • Session 3: July 6 through July 16
  • Session 4: July 20 through July 30
