Nominations & Judging

The annual TC Holiday Lights Contest is here! Don’t miss out on this fun annual tradition as we celebrate the holiday season! Nominate yourself or your neighbor for this fun holiday activity. This year staff will judge all nominated homes in seven categories.

Participants may enter their home as well as a neighbor’s home or a home they have seen around town.


2022 Holiday Lights Contest Categories & Winners

  • GRISWOLD AWARD: Because you can never have too many lights! Think Chevy Chase in Christmas Vacation!
    • 2841 Annandale Drive
  • SANTA'S FAVORITE THEME: Best display that has an organized appearance or theme.
    • 142 Claire Drive
  • NORTH POLE AWARD: Best neighborhood entrance or best street/cul-de-sac effort.
    • Hogans Glen Entrance
  • BEST CHARACTER USE: Best use of holiday characters (Frosty, Santa, Mrs. Claus, Rudolph, Buddy the Elf, etc.).

  • OUTDOOR CHRISTMAS TREE: The best decorated outdoor tree (does not have to be a Christmas tree, you can decorate any tree in your yard as a Christmas tree).

  • BEST USE OF ANIMATION: Use of lights and music that will bring your Winter Wonderland to life.
    • 3 Brook Creek Court
  • JUDGE'S FAVORITE: The display that the judges enjoyed the most.

Judges Fav 2021

Judging Guidelines

All entries are judged on originality, creativity, and use of the “Holiday” theme designated in their entry. Special lighting, musical effects and live actors are encouraged.

Staff of the Parks & Recreation Department will judge all entries. One winner will be awarded for each category. Judging includes the part of your yard and house that is visible/open to the public.

Winners will receive bragging rights and a keepsake award sign in their yard. Winners will also be featured on the Parks & Recreation Facebook page and website.
