In the afternoon hours on Friday, October 4 the Town of Trophy Club was notified that a lift station across State Highway 114 in Westlake overflowed.  Subsequently, sewage has moved downstream into the Trophy Club creek behind the homes located on Brook Hollow Lane and across Indian Creek into the pond at Hogan’s Glen. Immediate steps are being taken by Westlake, in cooperation with the Town of Trophy Club and TC MUD 1, to clean up the sewage from affected waterways.

We have a great opportunity for families and friends to come together for a volunteer outing that is actually FUN! On Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. to noon, the four cities around Lake Grapevine, including Grapevine, Southlake, Flower Mound and Trophy Club will come together for a shoreline clean up of Lake Grapevine. The event is called Trash and Treasures, which is a Keep Texas Beautiful event.

As the discussion of a merger between the Town of Trophy Club and Trophy Club Municipal Utility District No. 1 (TC MUD 1) continues, the third organization affected by the proposed consolidation, Town of Westlake, has officially taken a stance. A document dated August 19, 2013, and written by Westlake Mayor Laura Wheat, was delivered to TC MUD 1 last week for review and action. In July, 2013 the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) informed the Town that a separate Public Water System (PWS) designation, specifically for the Public Improvement District (PID), was required.  The appropriate application was submitted and approved, and the PID is now a recognized PWS registered with TCEQ.  Subsequently, TCEQ sent a letter to the Town on August 8, 2013 noting alleged violations in regards to the PID’s water supply system.
