As the discussion of a merger between the Town of Trophy Club and Trophy Club Municipal Utility District No. 1 (TC MUD 1) continues, the third organization affected by the proposed consolidation, Town of Westlake, has officially taken a stance. Trophy Club Administrative Offices will be closed Monday, September 2 for the Labor Day holiday. Police, Fire and EMS services will continue as usual. The Community Pool will remain open through the Labor Day weekend (including Monday) before closing for the 2013 season.

Municipal offices will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3.

The school zone on Trophy Club Drive at Bobcat Boulevard has been extended southward to include the intersection of Lilyfield Drive in order to accommodate the new crosswalk at the intersection of Lilyfield and Trophy Club Drives. The crosswalk was added to help facilitate the expected pedestrian traffic that will be using the newly established Independence East Access Trail (expected to be completed the first week of September) from Trophy Club Drive to Parkview, and on to nearby schools.

The Denton County Health Department has confirmed five cases of measles, based on clinical symptoms and a link to a previous case. The cases range in age from nine to 17, and are located in the Justin area. All five cases were not immunized. All cases are linked to one previously identified case in Tarrant County, who had traveled outside the United States to a country where measles is common.
