On Tuesday, April 28th, the Town Council, Staff and Guests recognized six, 2014 Trophy Club Citizen of the Year (COY) Nominees, inlcuding three adults and three youths. These residents were nominated by fellow residents, teachers and peers in recognition of all the wonderful things the volunteers do for the community and local organizations.

Beautiful, safe and enjoyable parks are essential to the Trophy Club community culture. The Town Council recently received feedback regarding Freedom Dog Park, and subsequently tasked the Parks & Recreation Board with developing a subcommittee to examine the issues, perform research and develop solutions. To that end, the Dog Park Subcommittee is reviewing processes and procedures at Freedom Dog Park with two primary goals:

The Byron Nelson High School (BNHS) Football Team is offering to do yard work for elderly, disabled or single parent residents as a community service project. The group is looking for individuals who need some help, so if you know anyone who could use a little yard work, please send an email to CleanMyYard2015@gmail.com with details. On Saturday, May 9th, groups of football players will be dropped off at homes to perform yard work.

A community-wide observance of the 64th Annual National Day of Prayer for the citizens of Roanoke, Trophy Club, and Westlake and surrounding areas will be held on May 7 at 12 noon at the Trophy Club Clock Tower located at the town’s main entrance. The event will be filled with prayer for our nation and its governmental leaders, military, media, businesses, schools, churches and families.

The Bi-annual Community Clean Up events are scheduled for Saturday, May 2 (spring) and Saturday, October 31 (fall), from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Byron Nelson High School northwest parking lot. All Trophy Club residents (please bring proof of residency) are welcome to drop off unwanted items during the event, which is hosted by Republic Services. The service includes the Crud Cruiser for unwanted household hazardous waste products, large dumpsters, electronic recycling, and document shredding.
