Trophy Club Police Department’s K9 Indy will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. A donation in the amount of $65,825 was presented to the charity from the “Help Officer Hickey Vest K9s” online fundraiser. The funds were raised through nationwide donations in efforts to help retired Officer Matt Hickey of Marietta, OH, keep his partner Ajax upon retirement. Officer Hickey was able to purchase Ajax for the sum of $1 and the balance was donated to Vested…

We are throwing a Community Block Party to celebrate the upcoming Trophy Club Town Hall facility and everyone is invited! The event is catered by Bread Winners and Meat U Anywhere BBQ with beverages and free Trophy Club swag to commemorate the first Town Hall built in Trophy Club history. The 2016 National Drug Take Back event is Saturday, April 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and the Trophy Club Police Department will accept expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications from Trophy Club residents’ medicine cabinets. Residents can drop off the unwanted medicines at the police station located at 100 Municipal Drive. The program is anonymous for participants and all medications collected will be destroyed.

Now that Texas has passed the Open Carry law, citizens can take a License to Carry (LTC) course to become certified to carry legally. The Town and Trophy Club Police Department are hosting a LTC training course on:

Open Carry Law Goes Into Effect January 1, 2016

Beginning on January 1, 2016, H.B. 910 will allow a person with a current concealed handgun license, or a person who obtains the new “license to carry a handgun,” to carry a handgun in a concealed manner or openly in a belt or shoulder holster. The rules related to where and when a license holder may openly carry are essentially identical to where and when a concealed handgun license holder can carry under current law. Of course, those rules remain complicated.
