August 28, 2013 --- Denton County Commissioners Court yesterday instated a Local Disaster Declaration for Threat of Wildland Fire Due to Dry Conditions in Denton County.

The school zone on Trophy Club Drive at Bobcat Boulevard has been extended southward to include the intersection of Lilyfield Drive in order to accommodate the new crosswalk at the intersection of Lilyfield and Trophy Club Drives. The crosswalk was added to help facilitate the expected pedestrian traffic that will be using the newly established Independence East Access Trail (expected to be completed the first week of September) from Trophy Club Drive to Parkview, and on to nearby schools.

On Wednesday, July 10th, 2013 at approximately 2:42 p.m. Trophy Club Police Officers were dispatched to the DATCU Credit Union located inside the Tom Thumb grocery store at 101 Trophy Lake Dr., Trophy Club, for a robbery that had just occurred. Officers were advised the suspect had already fled the scene. The suspect was described as a white male, late 40’s to early 50’s with a salt and pepper mustache. The Trophy Club Police Department (TCPD) Rehab Project that began on May 18, 2013 has concluded and all units of the TCPD will return to the building today (Friday, June 21, 2013). The TCPD still has a lot unpacking and house cleaning to do, which is expected to take an additional two to three weeks to complete. Police Chief Scott Kniffen believes that the project has led the department to evaluate what supplies and equipment should be kept, sold at auction, or disposed of to allow for more open workspace and storage. The rehab project has brought…

The Trophy Club Police Department recently upgraded the police camera system in all four patrol vehicles to the Watch Guard 4RE Digital Video system. The change in camera systems only cost the Town approximately $6,000, since the Denton County Sheriff's Office contributed approximately $25,000 toward the new camera system. Watch Guard is a highly regarded manufacturer of law enforcement products and holds 25% of the market share for police camera systems in the United States.
