Town Council Amends Solicitation Ordinance, Implements No-Knock List

At the August 12, 2014 meeting, the Town Council voted unanimously to amend various sections of the ‘Peddlers and Solicitors’ ordinance in an effort to better protect residents from the negative impacts associated with soliciting and distribution. The amended ordinance still maintains a business’s First Amendment right to communicate to potential customers, but also allows residents the right to ‘opt out’ if they do not want door-to-door solicitors or handbills dropped at their door.

Citizens Police Academy — Begins August 21st

Interested in learning about the “real” world of Law Enforcement and policing Trophy Club style?  Join the Trophy Club Police Department (TCPD) as a member of the 2014 Fall Citizen’s Police Academy, which starts on:

August 21 at 7:00 p.m.

Classes run for 11 weeks and are every Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., or until the last question is asked, at the Fire Department Training Room (295 Trophy Club Drive).

Please do not be alarmed at an increased police presence at BNHS on Monday, June 23 through Thursday, June 26. Several agencies will be conducting active shooter training at the school.

Beginning Monday June 23rd, the Trophy Club Police Department will host four days of training at Byron Nelson High School (BNHS). Other participating agencies include Argyle, Keller, Northlake, Roanoke and Southlake. The Trophy Club Police Department has received a report by a resident of a telephone scam that was recently attempted on him. The resident advised he received a phone message from a female identifying herself as Myers and that he had won $100,000. Myers continued by telling him to call her back to receive the cash. The number provided was from a 916 area code. The resident called back and spoke with Myers who advised him to go to any convenience store and purchase a $500 authorization card. Once done, she would transfer the money to that card.…

At the Town Council meeting on Monday, April 21, 2014, Chief Scott Kniffen of the Trophy Club Police Department presented numerous awards to the officers at the Annual Awards and Commendations Presentation.
