On Saturday, November 9, 2013, Urban Shield and the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) jointly hosted a series of full-scale mock disaster exercises aimed at assessing and promoting the capabilities of local professional emergency management plans, first responders and their equipment, and community response initiatives.  Both the Cities of Dallas and Fort Worth were involved in this program, with eight mirrored scenarios occurring at the same time in locations near each metropolitan area.  Scenarios were varied and covered a…

We have received reports that SH 114 is closed in both directions from FM 1709 in Southlake to Trophy Club Drive, and SH 114 at Marshall Creek Bridge is a sheet of ice and the westbound side is currently closed. The Town Council recognized several Trophy Club Emergency Responders on November 18, 2013 for their heroic efforts to save a resident's life. The following excerpt was read by Fire Chief Danny Thomas, who along with Chief of Police Scott Kniffen, then recognized the first responders with Life Saving Awards.

The Trophy Club Emergency Volunteer Association (TCEVA) has waited a long time to unveil the new reflective graphics on the group’s emergency response trailer…and the trailer looks AWESOME!

In the fall of 2012, the police department approached the Byron Nelson High School (BNHS) art department to help develop graphics for the side of the trailer. BNHS art students went to work designing artwork concepts and the student who came up with the basis for the trailer design is Connor Duffy.
