UPDATE (Monday, October 13, 2014) --- Due to the rain and high winds, the markings in the roundabout will not be painted today. The project is anticipated to take place around the Thanksgiving holiday, weather permitting. We will post an update when a new date and time is scheduled.

The inside lane of the roundabout will be closed from 9:30 a.m. — 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Monday, October 13 in order for the Streets Services department to repaint traffic markings on the pavement. Traffic will continue to flow in the outside lane…

Town Council Amends Solicitation Ordinance, Implements No-Knock List

At the August 12, 2014 meeting, the Town Council voted unanimously to amend various sections of the ‘Peddlers and Solicitors’ ordinance in an effort to better protect residents from the negative impacts associated with soliciting and distribution. The amended ordinance still maintains a business’s First Amendment right to communicate to potential customers, but also allows residents the right to ‘opt out’ if they do not want door-to-door solicitors or handbills dropped at their door.

From the Texas Department of Transportation (July 24, 2014) — Traffic Alert: WESTLAKE – Beginning Wednesday, August 6, 2014 work will begin to close a small section of J.T. Ottinger Road between the SH 170 frontage roads. This will prevent the crossing of SH 170 east and westbound which is a safety concern. This will also prevent westbound traffic in the left lane from slowing down to turn left (southbound) onto J.T. Ottinger Road.

Citizens Police Academy — Begins August 21st

Interested in learning about the “real” world of Law Enforcement and policing Trophy Club style?  Join the Trophy Club Police Department (TCPD) as a member of the 2014 Fall Citizen’s Police Academy, which starts on:

August 21 at 7:00 p.m.

Classes run for 11 weeks and are every Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., or until the last question is asked, at the Fire Department Training Room (295 Trophy Club Drive).

Update (July 23, 2014) --- Freedom Dog Park will reopen to the public on Wednesday, July 30th after almost two weeks of precautionary measures to decontaminate the park. Crews had to wait until the ground dried completely from the rains last Thursday before beginning the process of cleaning and disinfecting. All visible dog feces will be removed and all drinking bowls replaced. The dog park will receive two rounds of remediation utilizing a diluted bleach solution to spray all areas where feces was found, as well as dog equipment, dog wash stations,…

The entrance to the Abbey Moor neighborhood will soon be improved to provide drivers with easier and safer access in and out of the subdivision. Lennar Homes will be altering the median along Yorkshire Drive, where larger vehicles have had difficulties negotiating the tight turns, often resulting in driving over curbs and landscaping. Lennar will be relocating the existing Abbey Moor entry sign and shortening the Yorkshire median, which will also help with drivers negotiating the turn at Sherwood Drive.
