News from TC MUD 1, who purchases water from the City of Fort Worth --- The Fort Worth Water Department is experiencing changes in the taste and odor of the drinking water coming from the Rolling Hills and Westside water treatment plants. The Water Department assures customers the water is safe for drinking, cooking, bathing and all other purposes, even though it has an earthy smell and taste.

UPDATE (January 17, 2014 at 1:29 pm) --- Reports have indicated that a 30-year-old Denton woman has became the fourth person to die of the flu in Denton County, health officials confirmed. The woman, who had received a flu shot, had no underlying medical conditions, according to Sarah McKinney, a spokesperson for the Denton County Health Department.

In the afternoon hours on Friday, October 4 the Town of Trophy Club was notified that a lift station across State Highway 114 in Westlake overflowed.  Subsequently, sewage has moved downstream into the Trophy Club creek behind the homes located on Brook Hollow Lane and across Indian Creek into the pond at Hogan’s Glen. Immediate steps are being taken by Westlake, in cooperation with the Town of Trophy Club and TC MUD 1, to clean up the sewage from affected waterways.

The Fall Community Clean Up event is almost here! On Saturday, September, 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Byron Nelson High School parking lot (west side of school) the Crud Cruiser will be available to all Trophy Club residents (proof of residency required i.e. DL, utility bill, etc.). Large dumpsters, electronic recycling and document shredding are also available.

The Denton County Health Department has confirmed five cases of measles, based on clinical symptoms and a link to a previous case. The cases range in age from nine to 17, and are located in the Justin area. All five cases were not immunized. All cases are linked to one previously identified case in Tarrant County, who had traveled outside the United States to a country where measles is common.

July 27, 2013 --- UPDATE:  The Denton County Health Department (DCHD) has confirmed the first human case of West Nile virus for 2013 in the county. The patient is in his 40s, resides in the City of Denton, and has West Nile fever (the milder form of the illness). For patient confidentiality reasons, no further personal information will be released.
