As the discussion of a merger between the Town of Trophy Club and Trophy Club Municipal Utility District No. 1 (TC MUD 1) continues, the third organization affected by the proposed consolidation, Town of Westlake, has officially taken a stance. A document dated August 19, 2013, and written by Westlake Mayor Laura Wheat, was delivered to TC MUD 1 last week for review and action. Trophy Club Administrative Offices will be closed Monday, September 2 for the Labor Day holiday. Police, Fire and EMS services will continue as usual. The Community Pool will remain open through the Labor Day weekend (including Monday) before closing for the 2013 season.

Municipal offices will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3.

In July, 2013 the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) informed the Town that a separate Public Water System (PWS) designation, specifically for the Public Improvement District (PID), was required.  The appropriate application was submitted and approved, and the PID is now a recognized PWS registered with TCEQ.  Subsequently, TCEQ sent a letter to the Town on August 8, 2013 noting alleged violations in regards to the PID’s water supply system. A message from the Trophy Club Municipal Utility District No. 1 (TC MUD 1):

To better serve our customers, Trophy Club Municipal Utility District No. 1 will be upgrading the main water intake.  The upgrade will require disconnection from the main water supply from the City of Fort Worth for approximately six hours.  Work will begin at about 7:00 a.m. on Monday, August 19, 2013.  Customers will continue to receive water service from water stored in tanks and should not encounter any issues related to water service.  However, because…
