The State of the Town speech was delivered by Mayor Connie White on Monday, April 21, 2014.

The annual State of the Town is always an honor to present, but this year I am particularly pleased with the Town’s accomplishments, position and direction. Trophy Club has experienced fast-paced growth in recent years. Since I was elected Mayor in 2009, the Town has issued over 1,000 residential building permits and in FY14 we anticipate more than 250 additional. Local elections are in full swing and Trophy Club voters will not only be electing candidates for Town Council, TC MUD 1 & NISD, but also considering two ballot propositions:

  • Proposition 1 – The reauthorization of the local sales and use tax in the Town of Trophy Club at the rate of one-fourth of one percent (0.25%) to continue providing revenue for maintenance and repair of municipal streets. The tax expires on the 10th anniversary of the date of this election unless the imposition of the tax is reauthorized.

The North Texas health departments of Collin, Dallas, Denton, and Tarrant counties are again coordinating their planning efforts to make a collective impact on this year’s West Nile virus season.

The 2012 West Nile virus season was unexpected and took a significant toll on the health of citizens of the North Texas region. Ground and aerial spraying were used in areas of the region to reduce the mosquito population potentially carrying the virus. In 2013, North Texas health departments enhanced collaborations to prevent a potential recurrence.…

Update (May 2, 2014): The Water Conservation Plan and Drought Contingency & Emergency Water Plan for PID residents were both unanimously approved at the April 21, 2014 Town Council Meeting. For citizens of Trophy Club residing outside of the PID, a similar set of plans was approved by the TC MUD No. 1 on April 22, 2014 and can be viewed online here.

Please be aware that with the adoption of these plans, all residents within Trophy Club will be held to a similar requirement as the City of Fort Worth, with outdoor watering…

After several months and hours of work conducting research and attending various meetings, the Blue Ribbon Panel (BRP) formally presented the final report to the Town Council on Monday, April 7, 2014.

No activity center, no senior center! This Community is growing rapidly and we will soon have no more room to dream. Prior efforts to promote meeting and exercise facilities for the community have been met with disappointment.
