The Trophy Club Town Council is seeking residents who are willing to spend a few hours a month to serve their community. Appointed Board  Members must agree to serve without compensation but may be reimbursed for actual expenses approved in advance by the Town Council.

Applications will be accepted until Wednesday, October 22, 2014 for annual appointments for the following:

The Denton County Health Department (DCHD) is reporting its first human cases of West Nile Virus (WNV) of the season and the first case of Chikungunya virus (ChikV) in a Denton County resident.  The Texas Department of State Health Services confirmed yesterday two cases of WNV—one resident in the City of Denton, the other in Argyle.

Trophy Club Chief of Police, Scott Kniffen, will retire on September 26, 2014 after 40 years in law enforcement. Chief Kniffen has led the Trophy Club Police Department since September 2006 and faithfully served the citizens of Trophy Club for eight years. He and his wife Joanne have purchased acreage in Clyde, Texas, and look forward to a slow-paced retirement in a tight-knit community with deep family roots.

UPDATE (Monday, October 13, 2014) --- Due to the rain and high winds, the markings in the roundabout will not be painted today. The project is anticipated to take place around the Thanksgiving holiday, weather permitting. We will post an update when a new date and time is scheduled.

The inside lane of the roundabout will be closed from 9:30 a.m. — 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Monday, October 13 in order for the Streets Services department to repaint traffic markings on the pavement. Traffic will continue…

Trophy Club Administrative Offices will be closed Monday, September 1 in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Police, Fire and EMS services will continue as usual. Municipal offices will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2.

The Community Pool will be closed August 25 - 29, then open for Labor Day weekend August 30 - September 1. After September 1, the pool is closed for the 2014 season.

Town Council Amends Solicitation Ordinance, Implements No-Knock List

At the August 12, 2014 meeting, the Town Council voted unanimously to amend various sections of the ‘Peddlers and Solicitors’ ordinance in an effort to better protect residents from the negative impacts associated with soliciting and distribution. The amended ordinance still maintains a business’s First Amendment right to communicate to potential customers, but also allows residents the right to ‘opt out’ if they do not want door-to-door solicitors or handbills dropped at their door.
