Beautiful, safe and enjoyable parks are essential to the Trophy Club community culture. The Town Council recently received feedback regarding Freedom Dog Park, and subsequently tasked the Parks & Recreation Board with developing a subcommittee to examine the issues, perform research and develop solutions. A community-wide observance of the 64th Annual National Day of Prayer for the citizens of Roanoke, Trophy Club, and Westlake and surrounding areas will be held on May 7 at 12 noon at the Trophy Club Clock Tower located at the town’s main entrance.  The event will be filled with prayer for our nation and its governmental leaders, military, media, businesses, schools, churches and families.

The Bi-annual Community Clean Up events are scheduled for Saturday, May 2 (spring) and Saturday, October 31 (fall), from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Byron Nelson High School northwest parking lot. All Trophy Club residents (please bring proof of residency) are welcome to drop off unwanted items during the event, which is hosted by Republic Services. The service includes the Crud Cruiser for unwanted household hazardous waste products, large dumpsters, electronic recycling, and document shredding.

The National Institutes of Health recently called child sexual abuse the most dangerous issue facing America’s kids. The month of April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and the Trophy Club Police Department & Premier Academy are proud to partner with the Children’s Advocacy Center of Denton County to host a seminar and discussion about how to recognize and report child abuse in our community.

The Town has improved the availability of meeting video and audio files by utilizing YouTube and SoundCloud social sharing networks. All 2015 Town Council meeting videos have been uploaded to YouTube, and all 2015 Town Council, Board & Commission meeting audio files have been uploaded to SoundCloud. Users now have the opportunity to view a catalogue of Town Council meeting replays, and the flexibility to listen to Town Council & Appointed Board/Commission meeting audio files at leisure.

Spring will bring warmer temperatures to Texas, but it also brings the threat of severe weather with little time to prepare. The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) urges consumers to plan for severe weather and take steps to reduce the risk of property damage, before storms strike.
