In May, the Town Council presented a Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) to TC MUD 1 and the Town of Westlake that proposed merging the two local governments in Trophy Club over the next few years. As the discussion of a merger between the Town of Trophy Club and Trophy Club Municipal Utility District No. 1 (TC MUD 1) continues, the third organization affected by the proposed consolidation, Town of Westlake, has officially taken a stance. A document dated August 19, 2013, and written by Westlake Mayor Laura Wheat, was delivered to TC MUD 1 last week for review and action. Over 100 Trophy Club residents attended the Town Hall meeting on Thursday, August 8, 2013. The meeting covered several issues involving the proposed local government consolidation in Trophy Club and residents had the opportunity to ask questions of elected officials and the Town/TC MUD 1 Managers. The Town of Trophy Club has planned a Town Hall Meeting for Thursday, August 8 at 7:00 p.m. at the Lake Cities Church of Christ. Recently, the Town Council proposed a Strategic Partnership Agreement between the Town, TC MUD 1 and Westlake that laid out a plan to consolidate the TC MUD 1 government with the Town of Trophy Club government and provide for appropriate negotiations with Westlake in regards to Solana. On June 24, 2013, the Town Council took Executive Action to form a Blue Ribbon Panel comprised of 12 TC MUD 1 and Public Improvement District (PID) residents.The Panel will be charged with investigating the optimal solution to the future TC MUD 1 and Town government structure by:

  • examining the current government structure in Trophy Club,
  • researching best practices for municipal government and
