UPDATE (Thursday, September 11, 2014) --- West Nile Virus (WNV) Reporting Update for:

Dallas County:  As of August 30, 2014 there have been six confirmed human cases of WNV; one in Coppell, one in Farmers Branch and four in Dallas. Ninety-nine mosquito tests have been returned with positive results for the virus, out of a total 89,614 tests in 2014.

Denton County:  As of September 5, 2014 there have been no reported human cases of WNV, and 38 mosquito tests have been returned with positive results…

Local elections are in full swing and Trophy Club voters will not only be electing candidates for Town Council, TC MUD 1 & NISD, but also considering two ballot propositions:

  • Proposition 1 – The reauthorization of the local sales and use tax in the Town of Trophy Club at the rate of one-fourth of one percent (0.25%) to continue providing revenue for maintenance and repair of municipal streets. The tax expires on the 10th anniversary of the date of this election unless the imposition of the tax is reauthorized.

The North Texas health departments of Collin, Dallas, Denton, and Tarrant counties are again coordinating their planning efforts to make a collective impact on this year’s West Nile virus season.

The 2012 West Nile virus season was unexpected and took a significant toll on the health of citizens of the North Texas region. Ground and aerial spraying were used in areas of the region to reduce the mosquito population potentially carrying the virus. Update (May 2, 2014): The Water Conservation Plan and Drought Contingency & Emergency Water Plan for PID residents were both unanimously approved at the April 21, 2014 Town Council Meeting. For citizens of Trophy Club residing outside of the PID, a similar set of plans was approved by the TC MUD No. 1 on April 22, 2014 and can be viewed online here.

Please be aware that with the adoption of these plans, all residents within Trophy Club will be held to a similar requirement as the City of Fort Worth, with outdoor watering…

The Spring Community Clean Up event is just around the corner! On Saturday, May 17, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Byron Nelson High School Northwest parking lot, Allied Waste will be available to all Trophy Club residents to accept unwanted household hazardous waste products. Proof of residency is required to participate in this clean up (please bring driver's license with current Trophy Club address, utility bill, etc. for proof). Large dumpsters, electronic recycling and document shredding will also be available.

BNHS Boys and Girls Soccer Headed to State Championships

On Thursday, April 17 at approximately 10:00 a.m. join the Town in celebrating the BNHS boys and girls soccer teams in a community send-off as they depart Trophy Club and head to the 2014 UIL State Championships! The team caravan will depart BNHS and drive by Medlin Middle School, Beck Elementary, and Lakeview Elementary before heading out to SH 114.

Leading into this advancement, both teams dominated in the Regional Finals, with results as follows:
BNHS Girls vs. Arlington Heights 2-0
