The purpose of this position is to safeguard the Town’s assets through the direction of the Town’s financial activities. This is accomplished by overseeing the management of revenues, expenditures, annual budget process, capital assets, and treasury funds. This position supervises employees, conducts performance evaluations, assists employees when appropriate, and responds to employee inquiries and concerns. Other duties include ensuring lawful financial reporting procedures are followed by employees, reviewing financial reports generated against Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and provides financial reports to management, public officials, and citizens. The Finance Director also develops the Town’s strategic financial plans, oversees the management of the Town’s debt, and interacts with other Town employees and citizens. This position does provide direction to other employees.
