National Day of Prayer | May 4 | 12:00 p.m. | Clock Tower

Come join us for this 25th Consecutive Observance of the National Day of Prayer to be held for the citizens of Roanoke, Trophy Club, and Westlake.  There will be inspirational worship music, a moving Presentation of Colors by the Roanoke Fire Department Honor Guard, and recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance by veterans from the Roanoke Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5074.

In addition, the mayors of Roanoke, Trophy Club, and Westlake will present proclamations declaring “A Day of Prayer” in their respective municipalities to coincide with the National Day of Prayer. Pastors from local churches will then lead prayers on behalf of our nation, its governmental leaders, businesses, schools, churches and families.  We urge our fellow citizens to join us in this important time of prayer for our nation.  Chairs will be available for attendees.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to Fellowship United Methodist Church in Trophy Club. For more information, check

The theme for the 2017 observance is For Your Great Name’s Sake! Hear Us... Forgive Us...Heal Us!  Taken from Daniel 9:19, which says, “O Lord, Listen! O Lord, Forgive! O Lord, Hear and Act! For Your Sake, O My God...”.  Thousands of similar prayer events will be happening all across the country in churches, parks and on courthouse steps.  Everyone is encouraged to attend and to set aside this time for the privilege of gathering publicly to worship and pray for our nation.
