The Trophy Club Police Department is excited to invite you to participate in the Citizen's Police Academy.

Have you ever asked yourself what the police do and why they do it? Does your basis of law enforcement knowledge come from Hollywood? Do you learn of happenings in town from Facebook? If so, this is the class for you. Find out the good, the bad and the ugly of police work; what we can legally do and what we cannot, what our policies are for community policing and how they affect your quality of life here in Trophy Club.

Students from past classes have remarked that this class has been an eye opening experience for them. You will gain knowledge, have fun, meet neighbors and build new friendships.

The Citizen’s Police Academy is FREE of charge and consists of 10 classes, held once a month (on Thursdays). A wide variety of topics including patrol, criminal investigations, juvenile crimes and the duties of our School Resource Officer, and special operations including a demonstration of K-9 Indy are covered. Classes also include a trip to the range and a visit to the Denton County Sheriff’s Department to tour our dispatch and jail facilities.

If this is of interest to you, apply on-line or visit the police station for an application. Attendees must be 18 years of age, live or work in Trophy Club and cannot have been convicted of a class B misdemeanor or higher. Background checks will be conducted on all applicants.

All applications must be received by Monday, the 23rd of January. Classes will begin on Thursday, the 26th of January at 7pm.
