In Mr. Class’ years as an Administrator he has developed and maintained strong analytical skills including cost efficiency and streamlining, exemplary problem solving skills while being in charge of high level executives and governing committees.    His help in strategizing with Department Heads and employees set him apart as a leader and head of the Dallas office of the FBI.

Initially assigned to the Atlanta Division of the FBI, where he investigated a wide variety of criminal and national security matters, Tom was later promoted into various positions of increasing responsibility within the FBI – ultimately serving as Special Agent in Charge of the Dallas Division.  In this capacity, Tom led a team of dedicated professionals and had operational and administrative oversight of 13 offices spread across north Texas.  When speaking about Mr. Class’ qualifications, Town Councilman Tim Kurtz commented that “Town Council believes Tom’s expertise in systems design and implementation, fiscal responsibility, communication and accountability are just what Trophy Club needs to build a great future.”

“It was evident from the beginning of the interview process that Mr. Class has the necessary leadership ability to carry out the goals that Council has for the Town and I am excited for our staff and citizens who will greatly benefit from this leadership.” said Town Councilman Philip Shoffner when asked for a statement regarding the announcement.

In addition to the excitement of hiring someone as qualified as Mr. Class to lead our Town into the future, Trophy Club is equally excited to be bringing a resident on board. The Town’s slogan, “A Great Place to Call Home” is something that residents take to heart when they choose to put down roots in Trophy Club.  Tom and his wife Kelley are Trophy Club residents, and are the proud parents of three adult children.  Mr. Class and his wife are both members of Trophy Club organizations and understand the importance of the relationship between the Trophy Club culture and the citizens – a culture of family, volunteerism, patriotism and community.  Mayor Pro Tem Greg Lamont stated that, “I am proud to welcome Tom Class as our Town Manager.  My wife Janet and I know Tom and Kelley Class and have seen their commitment and dedication to our town through their volunteer efforts with Tom on the Town’s CCPD Board and Kelley as an Officer in the Trophy Club Women’s Club.”

Trophy Club Mayor Nick Sanders speaks highly of Mr. Class’ impeccable reputation and strong leadership. “Tom’s entire professional career has been focused on community service and ensuring the safety of those around him. When I asked Tom why he chose Trophy Club when he moved to the area, his response was, ‘it’s a safe place to live.’  I am proud to announce to the residents of Trophy Club that we have the best man for the job with the ideal qualifications to maintain the Mayor and Town Council’s expectation of leadership, integrity and transparency.”

Mr. Class will assume the position as Town Manager on January 30, 2017.
