The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) plans to start the SH 114 expansion project later this year, which also includes two sections of sound wall to help buffer highway traffic noise. A TxDOT Public Meeting has been scheduled for March 1 to provide project information and solicit public comment. TxDOT plans to add an interior lane in both directions from Kirkwood to Trophy Lake Drive, and an interchange at SH 170 and Parrish Lane. The proposed sound wall will be 14’ tall and stretch from Marshall Creek east to The Village Shopping Center and from the creek on the east side of Beck’s property at SH 114 at Trophy Club Drive to Lake Cities Church of Christ.

At the February 9th Town Council meeting, TxDOT engineer Nancy Cline presented an update on the SH 114 projects.

The SH 114 widening and completion project from Kirkwood to IH 35 is divided into three projects, and TxDOT anticipates starting the SH 114 at 377 project in 2017-2018.

More information can be found on the TxDOT Project Tracker website.
