Baylor Regional Medical Center in Grapevine is now in “Active Pursuit” status for Level II Trauma Center designation. Effective immediately, Trophy Club Emergency Medical Services (EMS) will now transport all trauma victims to Baylor Grapevine. The “active pursuit” status for Baylor Grapevine means that trauma care is closer than ever for citizens in need of medical attention. Previously, trauma victims were transported by air or ambulance to John Peter Smith, Methodist Medical or Parkland Hospitals to receive trauma care.

The Texas Department of State Health Services determined that the facility meets the requirements of “in active pursuit of designation” status and Baylor Grapevine has two years to obtain the official trauma facility designation. Over the next two years Baylor Grapevine must collect data and undergo records reviews in order to pass a survey and fully comply with all state requirements in order to receive official designation.
