The Spring rainy season brought several severe thunderstorms that left Lake Grapevine above flood level all summer. Trophy Club Park has been closed to regular traffic since June due to high water levels in the park, and as water continues to recede debris is left littering the park. The flood debris must be removed/cleaned up before the park is fully operational again, and we need a community-wide effort to help cleanup Trophy Club Park!

Registered volunteers will receive an official “Restore TCP: Debris Crew” hat! #2015tcpdebriscrew

Online volunteer registration and sign up is now live!

Volunteers can also register on site at the September 26th cleanup.

A community-wide cleanup is scheduled for September 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with two-hour time slots that volunteers can sign up for (you are welcome to sign up for multiple time slots):

  • 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
  • 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

All volunteers must sign a waiver and review guidelines for working in the park, including FAQ’s, safety tips and information about the park. Volunteers age 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult and we ask that participants be at least five (5) years old. We will serve food and drinks all day, set up an emergency tent for any incidents and have a cooling tent or cooling bus available in case anyone gets too hot.

Items recommended for volunteers to bring:

  • Wear jeans/khakis
  • Wear appropriate shoes (closed toe, no sandals)
  • Wear a hat
  • Bring gloves
  • Bring bug spray

There are also two weekly debris clean up opportunities available for a small number of volunteers:

  • September 12 at 9:00 a.m.
  • September 19 at 9:00 a.m.

FEMA to Provide Public Assistance
The Town is eligible to apply for a public assistance grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to help offset disaster costs incurred from debris clean up, including volunteer man hours. FEMA will cover 75% of the project costs required to restore the damaged park. Please be sure to track and input your volunteers hours so we can submit the appropriate amount of man power time required to rehabilitate the park.

Trophy Club Park Set to Open October 2nd — Join Us for a Movie in the Park!
