Town Council Calls November 3, 2015 Bond Election for Joint Police/Town Hall Facility

Town Council will canvass the election results at the November 13, 2015 Special Call Meeting at 8:30 a.m. in the Svore Municipal Building Boardroom (100 Municipal Dr.).


After several months of planning and working through design concepts for a Joint Police/Town Hall facility, the Town Council called the November 3, 2015 Bond Election for $5.4M in funding for the proposed facility. Land for the project has already been purchased in the Trophy Wood District, and Staff has identified $3.86M of available funds to apply towards the construction of the facility. The proposed project has been professionally estimated to cost $7,716,257, which does not include professional services or furniture, fixtures and equipment; However, the Town Council has taken these expenses into consideration and anticipates that the $5.4M Bond, along with existing funding, will cover the proposed project. If approved, the bond election will not raise taxes.
