Grand Opening of Indoor Dog Gym Includes Fundraisers for Humane Society of North Texas and Homeward Bound Animal Rescue
It’s the most barked about event of the year – on Saturday, June 20, the Zoom Room® will celebrate the social aspect of dog ownership throughout Trophy Club with the grand opening of its newest dog training center. Zoom Room Trophy Club, a sporty, eco-friendly indoor canine gym that offers agility and obedience training, innovative group classes and an unparalleled selection of treats, toys, and pup supplies, is opening in The Shops of Trophy Club at 2001 Highway 114 East.
The new facility is owned by local entrepreneur and dog lover, Heather Gillihan. Prior to opening Zoom Room, Gillihan’s adventurous lifestyle led her to careers as a rocket scientist, environmental engineer and high school physics teacher. When searching for her final career adventure, she was drawn to Zoom Room’s dedication to offering a unique space for dogs and their owners and made it her mission to bring the business to Trophy Club.
Trophy Club pups – and their owners – will enjoy a full day of activities during the grand opening on Saturday, June 20 starting with all day $5 agility training classes. The grand opening party will take place between 4 – 7 p.m. and will feature fun-filled activities including:
- Dog caricatures drawn by a local artist with Spectator Party Art
- Doggy Disco® complete with music, a disco ball and laser lights.
- Fur painter for the dogs, face painter for the children
- Pizza, sweets and drinks
- Photo booth
- Tricks contest where the most skilled pup will be awarded a grand prize trophy
- Raffles throughout the day to receive free classes, private gym rentals, trainer-approved gear and other prizes. All raffle ticket proceeds benefit the Homeward Bound Animal Rescue.
The Zoom Room grand opening event is free and open to all dog owners. For all guests who register through the Zoom Room Trophy Club website (zoomroom.me/TCGO) and attend the grand opening event, the Zoom Room will make a $10 donation to the Humane Society of North Texas, a local animal shelter dedicated to providing for the well-being of animals who are abandoned, injured, mistreated or otherwise in need.
“Trophy Club is an ideal city for Zoom Room,” said Gillihan. “People here love to be active and they love their dogs; they love to be active with their dogs. Dogs and owners in Trophy Club and surrounding DFW areas will enjoy this innovative concept allowing for a controlled environment where people can exercise their dogs year-round.”
At the Zoom Room, owners can take their dogs through everything from agility, obedience and therapy dog training, to puppy preschool, scent work, tricks, Pup-lates®, urban herding and shy dog training for rescue dogs – giving not only the dog a workout but the owners as well. In addition to group and private classes, the Zoom Room serves as a dedicated event center for dog birthday parties, meet-up groups and charitable fundraisers.
The Zoom Room will be open Monday – Thursday from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 – 6 p.m. For more information about the grand opening and to make a reservation, visit zoomroom.me/TCGO or call (817) 380-8606.
