One of the best eateries around is right here in Trophy Club! The Byron Nelson High School (BNHS) Byron Bistro features a seasonal menu that changes weekly — and the food is delicious. Open for lunch on Wednesday & Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the Byron Bistro serves exotic foods with the freshest ingredients, including a variety of sandwiches, soups, salads, hot dishes and deserts. The award-winning Byron Bistro will open April 2 then close in mid-May for Summer, and reopen in October 2015. BNHS students prepare and serve all food, and if you haven’t dined at Byron Bistro yet you are missing out on a great meal!
To dine at Byron Bistro, check in at the BNHS main office as a guest at Byron Bistro. Head up the stairs, go to your left and head straight through the double doors; when you come to a hallway intersection turn left and the Bistro is located at the end of the hall on the left.
The NISD Academy of Culinary Arts & Hospitality program at BNHS currently has 150 students and is open to incoming Freshman (apply in 8th grade) and includes kids in 9th — 12th grade. For the first two years students are in the classroom and all the cooking is done by seniors. Students receive a full array of courses that cover all aspects of service, including hospitality (”front of the house”) and culinary training. From creating menus, taking inventory and ordering food to learning how to manage the business and cleaning the restaurant, the students do it all! By the end of their second year, students will choose either a hospitality services track or culinary arts track. Byron Bistro is self-funded and accepts donations.
The BNHS Academy of Culinary Arts & Hospitality is back-to-back state champions and compete in national competitions.
