Northwest ISD and Communities In Schools of North Texas are working together to organize the Second Annual Northwest Back to School Fair on Saturday, August 9, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Northwest High School, located at 2301 Texan Drive, Justin, TX 76247.
The fundraising event benefits families in need within the communities that Northwest ISD serves, providing students with school supplies and backpacks for the 2014-15 school year. At the event, families and children will also be able to receive access to free services, such as community health information, screenings, and immunizations.
Did you know: More than 3,900 children in the Northwest ISD system live at, or below, the federal poverty guidelines?
Through the Back to School Fair, Northwest ISD and Communities in Schools are dedicated to achieving their goal: To promote success in education by equipping children with the essential items needed to learn and achieve at school.
Your participation is vital! Northwest ISD is requesting support in 3 ways:
- Donate - Make a tax-deductive donation toward the purchase of school supplies. Every dollar counts!
- Contribute In-Kind - Host your own back-to-school drive to collect school supplies and backpacks.
- Sponsor - Sponsor a child, family, or group of students for $35 each to ensure they have all of the items they will need to head into the new school year.
Help to make a real difference today for kids right here in the Trophy Club community by donating to this important cause.
Go to www.cisnt.org to donate online or download the donation form and mail a check to Communities in Schools of North Texas, P.O. Box 295543, Lewisville, TX 75029-5543.
Your assistance will go a long way toward helping Northwest ISD achieve its mission to, "surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life."
The Town of Trophy Club Fire Department (295 Trophy Club Drive) will act as a drop-off location for school supplies. Donations may be made until August 4th, when Northwest ISD will send a school bus around to drop-off locations to pick up items. For a list of appropriate school supplies needed, by grade, view the Pre-K — 2nd Grade List, 3rd — 6th Grade List, or 7th — 12th Grade List.
