Fire Department to Host Citizens Fire Academy

APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED: The Town of Trophy Club Fire Department has decided to extend enrollment for the 2014 Citizens Fire Academy (CFA). This training course is for adults wishing to learn more about their operations! Classes will now begin Thursday, January 30, 2014

The course will meet one evening each week for a ten week period beginning Thursday, January 30, and will cover valuable topics ranging from the proper use of fire extinguishers, to basic search and rescue protocol.  Upon completion of this course series, participants will be honored with a graduation ceremony. Give back to your community in 2014 by participating in the Trophy Club Fire Department’s Citizens Fire Academy.  This ten week course will educate qualified* adults in the organization and operation of the FD, provide valuable information for participants regarding fire safety, and create a community group of trained volunteers to assist and support the operations of both the Fire and Police Departments.  Classes will meet each Thursday evening at 6:30pm beginning January 30, 2014.

The CFA will cover the following:  
Fire Department Structure Protective Clothing Apparatus & Equipment 
Emergency Medical Services CPR Fire Extinguishers
Search & Rescue Ropes & Knots Inspections & Investigations
Emergency Management Extrication
