The 1st Annual “Back to Nature” event took place Saturday April 27th at Trophy Club Park. This one-of-a-kind event featured live animal demonstrations, outdoor photography, a family campout and a 5k/10k fun run, just to name a few of the many attractions. About 700 people from the community gathered to celebrate trails, trees, and camping.


  • 213 participants registered for the Family Campout at Trophy Club Park
  • The Prairie Dog Chapter of the Dutch Oven Society prepared beans, cobbler and homemade rolls for the campers

5K and 10K Run

  • 70 runners participated in free 5K and 10K run

Arbor Day Tree Planting and Mission

  • A tree was planted in the spirit of Arbor Day
  • The mission was to get kids and adults out of the house and involved with nature

Big Hits

  • Raptor Center Vendor Booth-children were able to view birds of prey and learn about their habits by wildlife experts and ask questions
  • Wildlife on the Move Booth-children were able to view and touch snakes, iguanas, and a tarantula
  • Marshall Creek Ranch Booth-children were able to take horseback rides in Trophy Club Park
  • Nature Trail Booth-children were taken on a nature tour of Trophy Club park by nature enthusiasts


Other Hits

  • Outdoor Photography- Twenty registrants learned the fundamentals of outdoor photography and then took pictures throughout Trophy Club Park
  • Geocaching Scavenger Hunt- Boy Scout Troop 555 took children and adults on a geocaching adventure in Trophy Club Park
